The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
