Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time mentor Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.

Victory also signifies he has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a decider.

Moutet saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
