Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under intense attacks overnight. A minor died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
